KMR Luxury Kosher Vacations

Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines

La Jolla (San Diego), California, USA

The operator’s website still shows last season. The details here are from 2026 and may change.

KMR held its Pesach 2026 program at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in the San Diego area, and its site had not posted a 2027 program when checked. The operator states that the food is glatt kosher, cholov yisroel and non-gebrokts with shmurah matzah only, and it lists separate Ashkenaz and Sefard minyanim and a full children's day camp.

Kashrut and standards

Taken from the operator’s own website. A dashed outline means the operator hasn’t said, not that the answer is no.

Supervision
Not named on the operator’s website. Ask who gives the hechsher.
Minyanim
Ashkenaz, Nusach Sefard

Who is the supervisor?

The operator’s website does not name a rabbi or agency I could look up.

Worth asking the operator

  • Who signs the kashrut certificate for this program, and can I see this year’s certificate?
  • How many years has he supervised this operator’s Pesach programs, and this hotel in particular?
  • Does an agency or beth din stand behind the certificate, or is it his personal hechsher?
  • Is he in the hotel for the whole of Yom Tov, and how many mashgichim work under him?

Standards can change from year to year. Confirm with the operator and your own rav.

The hotel

About the building itself, all year round. The Pesach program is run by the operator, not the hotel.

I don’t have confirmed details for this building yet. The map and reviews below come straight from Google.

Getting there

There is a nonstop flight from New York (JFK), about 5.5 hours in the air.

San Diego (SAN) has nonstops from New York JFK, Newark, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago O'Hare, Toronto and London Heathrow.

Most guests fly into San Diego or drive down from Los Angeles; travelers from Israel usually connect through Los Angeles or an East Coast airport.

Routes come from each airport’s published route list, checked October 2026. Flight times are estimates from the distance. Airlines change schedules, so confirm before you book (route list we used).

From the airport

  • San Diego International Airport (SAN): about 30 minutes by carSan Diego's airport, right beside downtown.

Driving instead

  • From Los Angeles: about 2 hours
  • From Las Vegas: about 5 hours
  • From Phoenix: about 5.25 hours

Late April weather

Mild, with days around 68°F (20°C) and nights near 57°F (14°C); the Pacific is about 62°F (17°C), cold for swimming without a wetsuit.

Good to know

  • You need a car; the resort is in a canyon inland from Del Mar, away from public transportation.
  • The zoo, SeaWorld and LEGOLAND are busy during chol hamoed, so buy tickets ahead and arrive early.
  • Pacific time zone, three hours behind New York. Mornings near the coast are often cloudy and cool.

Google’s star rating and reviews are for Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines all year round, not for the Pesach program.

Safety and travel advisories

What governments say about travel to this country. Nothing here is this site’s own judgment.

Safety information for the United States

The US State Department does not publish an advisory for its own country. Other governments do publish advice for visitors, and local police departments publish crime figures for their own cities.

This is the governments’ own wording, not a rating by this site. Israel’s National Security Council also publishes travel warnings for Israelis abroad. Ask the operator what security the program itself arranges, such as guards and entry checks.
