Pesach in Vail, Colorado, USA

Getting there

There is a nonstop flight from New York (JFK), about 3.5 hours in the air.

Denver (DEN) has nonstops from New York JFK, Newark, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago O'Hare, Toronto, London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Eagle (EGE) flights from the hubs are winter-only and unlikely to run in late April.

Most guests fly into Denver and drive or take a shuttle about two hours west on Interstate 70.

Routes come from each airport’s published route list, checked October 2026. Flight times are estimates from the distance. Airlines change schedules, so confirm before you book (route list we used).

From the airport

  • Denver International Airport (DEN): about 2 hours by carThe main airport; the mountain highway can be slow or close briefly in snow.
  • Eagle County Regional Airport (Vail/Eagle) (EGE): about 40 minutes by carA small local airport with very few flights once ski season ends.

Driving instead

  • From Denver: about 1.75 hours

Late April weather

Cold and changeable, with days around 52°F (11°C) and nights near 26°F (-3°C); snow is still possible.

Good to know

  • Vail sits at about 8,150 feet (2,480 m); drink plenty of water and take the first day slowly.
  • Late April is the very end of ski season, so check whether lifts are still running; many village shops close for a few weeks afterward.
  • You do not need a car in Vail itself, which has free buses, but you do for day trips.
  • Mountain time zone, two hours behind New York.

Safety and travel advisories

What governments say about travel to this country. Nothing here is this site’s own judgment.

Safety information for the United States

The US State Department does not publish an advisory for its own country. Other governments do publish advice for visitors, and local police departments publish crime figures for their own cities.

This is the governments’ own wording, not a rating by this site. Israel’s National Security Council also publishes travel warnings for Israelis abroad. Ask the operator what security the program itself arranges, such as guards and entry checks.
