Pesach in Saïdia, Morocco

Getting there

We found no nonstop flight from New York (JFK) in late April, so plan on one connection. A nonstop would take about 8 hours; with a connection allow several hours more.

Paris is listed year-round into Oujda (Charles de Gaulle and Orly) and into Nador (Orly). No nonstops from London, North America or Tel Aviv.

North American travelers usually fly to Casablanca and take a domestic flight to Oujda, or connect through Paris.

Routes come from each airport’s published route list, checked October 2026. Flight times are estimates from the distance. Airlines change schedules, so confirm before you book (route list we used).

From the airport

  • Oujda Angads Airport (OUD): about 60 minutes by carThe usual airport for Saïdia.
  • Nador International Airport (NDR): about 80 minutes by carAn alternative to the west, near Nador.

Late April weather

Mild and mostly sunny, with highs around 70°F (21°C) and nights near 52°F (11°C); the Mediterranean is about 62°F (17°C), too cold for most swimmers.

Good to know

  • Morocco is five hours ahead of New York in late April.
  • The currency is the Moroccan dirham, which you can only get inside Morocco; cards work in hotels and larger shops, but markets want cash.
  • US passport holders do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days; other passports should check entry rules.
  • A rental car or driver is needed for outings; the resort area is quiet outside summer, and the land border with Algeria next to Saïdia is closed.

Safety and travel advisories

What governments say about travel to this country. Nothing here is this site’s own judgment.

US State Department travel advisory for Morocco

Level 2 of 4: Exercise increased caution

  • Reasons the advisory gives: terrorism.
  • The level is for the whole country, not for the hotel or its neighborhood. Level 1 is the lowest of the four and Level 4 the highest.
  • Advisory dated April 20, 2025; I read it on October 4, 2026. Levels change, so open the advisory before you book and again before you fly.

This is the governments’ own wording, not a rating by this site. Israel’s National Security Council also publishes travel warnings for Israelis abroad. Ask the operator what security the program itself arranges, such as guards and entry checks.
